45 Most Amazing Famous People with Moustaches

Some of our period’s most legends showcased a good, old-fashioned moustache. Be it a delicate, pencil-thin whiskers or filled grandiose’ moustaches, each piece of facial hair has become a historical element. And that heritage does not have to be ancient history. There have been popular real-life moustache growers, just as there have been legendary filmic moustaches.

Stop your search, if you’re looking for ideas on how to improve your own this Movember, or if you’re just intrigued to learn how men, the old and new wore their facial hair. These are the top 45 moustaches of all time.

1.Eddie Murphy

His comedy champions were Charlie Chaplin and Richard Pryor, both of whom sported moustaches, so it’s no shock Eddie Murphy does as well. In his stand-up show Delirious, he refers to himself as “having a Billy Dee Williams look,” referring to the Blaxploitation legend who gained recognition as Lando Calrissian in the Star Wars movies.

Murphy grew it basic in the 1980s, aka his “funny period,” with just a perfectly groomed moustache. He’s been wearing it with a soul patch (that tuft of hair grown under the lip) since the 1990s, while making sleazy family films. Maybe the soul patch is robbing him of his sense of humor.

2.Hulk Hogan

Wrestler Hulk Hogan is a major advocate of the Fu Manchu moustache. On Oct. 27, 2009, he flaunted it alongside his absolutely incredible biceps at the launch of his book “My Life Outside the Ring” at Madison Square Garden.

3.Emiliano Zapata

This spectacular, admiral facial hair may have helped the Mexican leader spark a rebellion. Zapata elicited both admiration and devotion.

4.Tom Selleck

Tom Selleck’s moustache is a face decoration, not just a facial hair. Magnum PI would be incomplete without this timeless brown moustache.

5.Charlie Chaplin

The resemblance between Charlie Chaplin’s moustache and Hilters’ moustache is unmistakable. Indeed, researchers agree that the resemblance between Hitler’s facial hair and the cherished “Tramp” helped to soften the ruler’s image and reputation.

Ron Rosenbaum investigated the link between the two facial haired men. “Chaplin’s moustache became a prism through which to view Hitler. A glass through which Hitler became simply Chaplinesque: an estimate to be ridiculed rather than questioned, a humorous antagonist whose aspirations would crumble under the load of his own excessive load like the Little Tramp on his walking stick. Someone who should be mocked instead of avoided.”

6.Friedrich Nietzsche

This 19th-century German philosopher questioned conventional moral and religious beliefs. Regrettably, he died without being able to figure out how to eat with such a large, overbearing moustache.

7.Lord Kitchener

In 1914 recruiting advertisements declaring “Your country needs you,” Field Marshal Horatio Herbert Kitchener’s powerful cutlets became one of the most recognizable (and mocked) pictures of the past century. It also worked. The state secretary for war, among the few high command to anticipate a long war, joined the biggest volunteer army Britain had ever witnessed.

All through his 45-year professional life as a militant, Kitchener wore the broad brush handlebar with twisted ends. In Blackadder Goes Forth, Stephen Fry’s General Melchett, a caricature of Kitchener and fellow commander Haig, wore a hairnet at night. LOL!

8.Albert Einstein

Einstein had a great moustache apart from being a brilliant mathematician and the founder of contemporary physics. It redefined the famous view of the magnificent but absent-minded scholar, and including his thick and often wild hair.

9.Salvador Dali

The Spanish absurdist artist is recognized primarily for his work as for his delicately molded and artistic moustache.

10.Burt Reynolds

He’s had a variety of facial hair looks, each time more manly than the previous one. Not that we’re whining; on the other hand, we believe his moustache represents what a red-blooded man should resemble.

11.Samuel L. Jackson (as Jules Winnfield)

His moustache from Pulp Fiction is one of the eerier facial hair in cinematic history.

12.Theodore Roosevelt

Roosevelt’s powerful moustache sat on his top lip as conveniently as Roosevelt sat in the saddle. Teddy’s facial hair helped him triumph over the Spanish-American War and stayed with him throughout his constructive presidential term.

13.David Niven

Until Londoner Niven soared to film superstar status, the pencil facial hair style was affiliated with sketchy grifters. He appeared in A Matter of Life and Death, the Pink Panther series, Separate Tables, and Casino Royale, and was the original 007 in the Bond comedy Casino Royale.

This slender, perfectly trimmed design was also worn by prominent men Clark Gable and Errol Flynn, who was Niven’s roommate in the hard-drinking Hollywood man cave known as Cirrhosis by the Sea. It became en vogue for silver-tongued display lowlifes like Leslie Phillips and Terry-Thomas because it was both differentiated and dandyish. Entertaining show.

14.Billy Dee Williams

Billy Dee Williams personified erudite and urban savoir-faire. However, how much less dapper would he have appeared without his signature lip adornment? Maybe this is why he kept it throughout his most iconic character, Lando Calrissian in “The Empire Strikes Back” and “Return of the Jedi,” as well as in his occasionally highly contested alcohol commercials. He appears in the 1980s prime-time soap opera “Dynasty.”

15.Alex Trebek

This facial haired Canadian-American television presenter has hosted Jeopardy since 1984 and has won six Emmys. Who exactly is Alex Trebek? This might be crossing your mind.

16.Genghis Khan

He was a brutal king who governed one of the world’s biggest kingdoms and wore a moustache to match his stature. Although stop in your tracks, there’s more. He also wore a flavor saver long before it was fashionable.

17.John Waters

The well-known artist and filmmaker sports one of the most unusual and well-known facial hair of our period.

“When I was 19 I sought to be Little Richard, and so I began growing it in tribute specifically for him. I sought to be the only white man in America with one, and I still might be,” he says, adding that he looks after it by shaving it daily. I’ve had a moustache for years and years that I don’t even notice it at all now. I merely cut it from the top daily, trim it from the bottom about two times a week, and if I miss, I just color it in!”

18.Mark Twain

Take a look at this magnificent son of a gun. It’s only suitable that the man who authored some of America’s favourite books also sported one of the country’s best moustaches.

19.Merv Hughes

The lumbering Australian fast bowler, who showcased a walrus-sized handlebar, was the epitome of machism in athletics. It became associated with “Big Merv” to the point where he protected it for £200,000. Hughes was a fan favorite due to his daily ritual of scowling at batters and his notoriety for trash talk.

These prompted to his nickname, Fruitfly – namely, the largest Australian insect. He was a member of an 80s era of furry-lipped Australian cricketers that included David Boon and Allan Border, rivaled only by Ian Botham, Graham Gooch, Jack Russell, and Allan Lamb from England. They should’ve played ‘Taches’ Ashes.

20.James Franco

Fantastic for his performance on HBO’s The Deuce as a ’70s dirt bag however, not the best choice for day to day.

21.Sam Elliott

The melodious tone that emanates from just below Sam’s facial hair is the only factor more remarkable than it. It’s difficult to say whether the vocal range or the moustache came first. They are both as old as time itself.

22.Ambrose Burnside

When your moustache is named after you, you know it’s culturally significant. General Ambrose Burnside was a political figure, pioneer, and the man who popularized sideburns.

23.Prince

The color purple is just as much an aspect of Prince’s “style” as his nicely trimmed, slender pencil facial hair. Whereas, other artists, like Sammy Davis Jr. and Little Richard, rocked moustaches in a manner comparable, Prince’s is a bit better.

Unlike most pencil moustaches, Prince’s has a small section immediately before to his nose. This distinguishes it from other thin moustaches, like John Waters’.

24.Mahatma Gandhi

Gandhi is remembered for his commitment to world peace, his opposition to colonialism, and his modest way of life. If we had to add anything to that docket, it would be his delicate, sincere facial hair.

25.Edward Elgar

In 1999, physicist Michael Faraday was replaced on the £20 note by Elgar, on the grounds that Faraday’s face was too simple to replicate and Elgar’s was much more difficult. This was largely thanks to the artist’s splendid facial hair.

“He fancied his facial hair a lot and was the first person to recognize that its sophistication would be hard to emulate,” Elgar’s godson, Wulstan Atkins, told BBC News at the time. ”It would have made him very happy to know that.” It’s a large, scraggly monster that exudes glitz and glamour, much like its founder’s magnificent parades.

26.John Oates

Hall and Oates met in the same service elevator after fleeing a Philadelphia gang gun battle. Daryl Hall was 6-foot-1 and blond, while John Oates was 5-foot-4 and dark. Hall went barefaced, while Oates rocked a notable chevron facial hair. Their outstanding performances and voices matched each other, propelling them to six No. 1 hits and sold-out arenas during their golden era in the 1970s and 1980s.

27.David Harbour (as Hopper)

We should be experiencing a moustached TV revival. (There will be more on this list later.) However, Stranger Things’ Hopper takes the spotlight in this one. The lushes bush on top of his upper lip appears to be aggressive.

28.Frank Zappa

Has there ever been a more notably identifiable moustache than Frank Zappa’s? He did some insane things with his guitar however, what else can you expect with facial hair like that?

29.Sasha Baron Cohen

Sasha Baron Cohen’s “Borat moustache” was sufficient to conceal his real identity however, it also makes him appear odd.

This long shaggy facial hair is most likely not natural, but somehow it provides a significant amount of personality to Borat’s image.

30.Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Gandhi taught Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. more than just nonviolent resistance. Despite being his least impressive feature, King’s seamless, modest facial hair ought to be mentioned.

31.Freddie Mercury

Pop-punk band Queen’s signature tonsorial shrub included guitarist Brian May’s huge lion mane and lead singer Freddie Mercury’s stripe facial hair, which he first grew in 1980. He paired it with an attire of tight vests and biker leathers, but his sexual orientation appeared pass many fans by.

Neither Freddie’s vibrant stage presence nor the band’s name gave away the secret to an era of air-punching fathers. Mercury’s similarity to a particular vanished individual attributed to his moniker in the pop bible Smash Hits: all rise for “Lord Frederick of Lucan.”

32.David Crosby

David Crosby is an important part of two iconic rock groups, The Byrds and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, and he has one of the most well-known sea lion looking moustaches this aspect of Wilford Brimley and the Lorax.

33.Frida Kahlo

This facial hair represented every one of the principles Frida stood for, defying social rules and rejecting the strict social structures of her period. Look for her on a ranking of unibrows too.

34.Adolf Hitler

Hitler’s facial hair is undoubtedly perhaps among the most heinous moustache in human civilization. It has become synonymous with all that is cruel and deceitful in moustaches.

35.Wyatt Earp

Wyatt Earp is a Western cultural icon. The renowned mustachioed sharpshooter worked as a sheriff, a U.S. marshal, a gambling addict, a gold rusher, and a variety of other jobs. Kurt Russell’s elegance in the film Tombstone, which impacts on some of the retired adventures, is well almost as intimidating as the actual Wyatt’s moustache.

36.Ned Flanders

Simpson’s  staunch Christian next-door neighbouring Homer Simpson edged out cartoon rivals Yosemite Sam and Super Mario to make our roster. Ned’s moustache is affectionately referred to by the Flanders family as Nose Neighbour, Mr Tickles, the Soup Strainer, and Dr Fuzzenstein.

He once trimmed it off after Homer insinuated that folks were ridiculing it, and he had it yanked out using a vacuum cleaner by his late wife Maude on some other event. More Flanders trivia: his full first name is Nedward, and his surname is derived from Flanders Street in Portland, Oregon, where creator Matt Groening grew up.

37.Geraldo Rivera

The frequently contentious Television reporter and talk show personality has long been recognized for his predilection for rising tales, and his glamorous facial hair matches his persona.

38.Burt Reynolds

The actor, who became well-known in the 1970s and 1980s, still sports his signature facial hair.

39.King George V

A powerful king with a walrus moustache. We believe King George V was the motivation for the ruler in a bundle of cards. And, despite the fact that he governed India as well, we are willing to overlook him solely because of that facial hair.

40.Nick Offreman (as Ron Swanson)

On the popular tv show ‘Buy at Amazon’, Nick Offreman’s role was recognized for his steadfast Progressive leanings just as much as his devoted moustache. For sure, Offerman still sports the moustache, in the recent time as lawyer Karl Weathers in the Fargo sequel.

41.Jason Lee

The main protagonist in “My Name Is Earl,” acted by retired professional skateboarder Jason Lee, had sagging facial hair. Lee, on the other hand, shaved his moustache for his successive character as a police in the cop show “Memphis Heat.”

42.Brad Pitt

Modest, sophisticated, and unbelievably good looking.

43.Rollie Fingers

He revived the trimmed thick facial hair raise to popularity among baseball players during a time when the players were just shaving off all their facial hair. Empowering and memorable!

44.Richard Roundtree (as Shaft)

Would John Shaft have been a bad-mutha-shut-yo-mouth if he hadn’t had the facial hair and sideburns? It’s difficult to predict. However, performer Roundtree popularized the style as the main protagonist in the 1971 black comedy masterpiece “Shaft,” which is currently on the National Film Registry.

45.Lionel Ritchie

How well does Ritchie maintain such a flawless facial hair? In an interview with GQ, he stated that he uses tweezers. “So, when you’re experiencing what I consider “time to kill,” or boredom, and you’re in a hotel or a dressing room with a large ten-magnification mirror? Oh man! Turn the mirror on thyself.”
