Lefties! 20 Famous Left-Handed People

The causes of left-handedness are debated, and none are considered 100% accurate at this point in time. That said, there are theories that genetics, sex (males tend to be left-handed more than females) and fetal development may make lefties, while southpaws can also form by modeling after their parents or simply adjusting to using their left hand.

There may also be a wage gap between right- and left-handed people. A Harvard study reported that left-handed people earn, on average, between 10% and 12% less income per year than right-handed people. Male left-handed people earn about $2,500 less than their righty peers, while left-handed women may earn $3,600 less than female southpaws. There may be other correlated factors at play: Left-handed people are more likely to do physical labor and less likely to graduate from college. However, this list shows us just how successful left handed people can also be. After all we all have limitless potential.
