Top 10 Little-Known Facts about Paula White

Paula Michelle White-Cain was born on April 20, 1966, in Tupelo, Mississippi. Her parents, Donald Paul Furr III and Myra Joanelle owned a toy shop but separated at a young age. The mother Myra relocated to Memphis. She became an alcoholic due to financial challenges but later transformed and married a United States Navy officer when Paula was nine years old. The family relocated to Washington DC, the location of her stepdad who worked at the National Naval Medical Center. She attended Seneca Valley High School based in Germantown, Maryland. In 1984 in Maryland, she converted to Christianity at Damascus Church of God. She is an American televangelist, author, television popular personality, and preacher of God’s word. Since 2014, she was the chief pastor of New Destiny Christian Center in Apopka, Florida until 2019. The church is a multicultural, nondenominational megachurch. Paula became chair of the evangelical advisory board in Donald Trump’s administration. She delivered the invocation at his inauguration on January 20, 2017. She is the former President’s personal pastor and spiritual advisor. She was on the record for being the first woman to deliver an invocation at a presidential inauguration ceremony in the history of the United States of America. Further, she was appointed the advisor to the Faith and Opportunity initiative at the office of Public Liason.

1. Paula has one son

She has only one son called Bradley Knight. The son is from her first marriage with Dean Knight. He works in her church, City Destiney Church as a senior pastor since 2019.

2. She has six stepchildren

Paula’s marriage to Randy White in 1990 who she met in the church in 1978 gave her three stepchildren. The two divorced in 2007 but promised to remain as good friends. In addition, she married Jonathan Cain who has three children from his former marriage to Elizabeth Fullerton. She was married to Jonathan in 2015 after he officially divorced his wife.

3. She Co-Founded a Church with Her Former Husband

Little is known that in 1991, Paula co-founded a church called Without Walls International Church in Tampa, Florida with her then-husband Randy White. However, she later founded another church called New Destiny Christian Center where she ministers as a senior pastor.

Paula has been the mentor to Charisse Strawberry, the most in demand for her role as a national speaker and co-author of the best-selling book “Recovering Life” and her husband Darryl. She was Paula’s assistant for some years. She now is a member of the Paula White Today program. Paula has been invited to other shows like the Young Women’s Leadership Summit in 2021 hosted by Turning Point USA.

Paula’s career as a preacher got amplified when she was invited to minister during the Woman Thou Art Loosed conference in 2000 hosted by Bishop T.G. Jakes. She has since preached many other times at the conferences hosted by Bishop T.D. Jake strengthens the ties between the two. Some of the conferences she has been invited to participate in by the Bishop include the Mega Fest in Atlanta in 2004, 2005, and 2008 respectively. In addition, she never remained the same again after her association with Bishop T.D. Jakes.

Paula gained favor with Donald Trump’s administration. Sheas was appointed as the advisor to the Faith and Opportunity initiative at the office of Public Liason. She was among the 35 evangelical pastors to be appointed to the President’s Evangelical Advisory Board. Among the 35 members were pastors Jerry Falwell Jr., Robert Jeffress, Franklin Graham, and Jack Graham. In addition, she was recorded as she became the first female clergy ever to deliver an invocation sermon in the world. In actual fact, Donald Trump’s administration was the first to have a woman pastor deliver a sermon during the inauguration. This record was on January 20, 2017, during Donald Trump’s inauguration as the 45th President of the United States of America.

7. Little Known Facts About How She Began the Television Shows

She began airing television shows when she was still married to Randy. Her first episode was in 2001. By 2006, the show had gained popularity with an international audience and had spread to nine television networks. It is during these shows that she met her husband Jonathan Cain, the then keyboardist for the rock band Journey. They married in 2014 until now. Her programs are on Trinity Broadcast Network and Black Entertainment Television.

8. Former US President Donald Trump is her fun

Among the many fans that Paula White has attracted since she started her television shows, the former president repeated three of her televised sermons “verbatim.” His comment was that she had the”it factor” in her talks. More importantly, Paula says Donald Trump called her out of the blue in 2015.

9. She ministered to the Late Michael Jackson

Through her Paula White Today television program, she attracted many celebrities including the Late Michael Jackson among others. She actually made a point to visit him. she actually traveled to Jackson’s Neverland to provide spiritual support in 2003. This was when Jackson was arrested on charges of child molestation.  In addition, she ministered to Darryl Strawberry after his release from prison in 2003.

10. She has a LinkedIn Account

Little is known of Paula on some internet platforms. For instance, she operates a LinkedIn account under the name Paula White C – Senior Pastor-New Destiny Christian Center. The accounts indicate that she has only 33 connections. She also has another account Paula White-Cain which has 99 connections. The latter connection shows a verse from the bible as her activity and here she has 115 followers. The verse is Job 5:19 “He shall deliver thee in six troubles: yea, in seven there shall no evil touch thee.” There are very encouraging words. Recently she posted “There is more happiness in giving than there is in receiving.” (Acts 20:35) Those words of Jesus underscore this important truth: Unselfish love brings its reward. Although there is much happiness in receiving love, there is even greater happiness in giving or showing, love to others! She concludes with two hashtag handles although only one person has reacted to the post.
